Mark Cares is reknown for his effective ministry TILM (Truth in Love Ministry) to Mormons.
The book "Speaking the Truth in Love to Mormons" has been in print since 1993 and
is considered the most accurate and effective way to bridge the Communication Witnessing Gap (CWG) for Christians that witness to the LDS

In his latest blog he comments about one of his encounters with a LDS:http://markcares.wordpress.com/

"Just last week a LDS woman commented on how the Mormon church’s expectations for women are “over the top” with the result that she has quit going. (And no, she’s not lazy or looking for the easy way out.)"

In my own little world (which 1 of 13 in the community is LDS), I know this to be the case about Mormon church’s expectations for women.
One of my daughter's high school friend is under pressure to find a boyfriend and get married.
It's hard for me to envision a world that for a mere 20 yr old is already thinking that she is not meeting some higher expectation of her.

Sure, one would say that in general that it is natural for 20yr old women to want to have a boyfriend and get married.
It's not like I don't have any clue about this subject ..I have 4 daughters (3 of them older than 20...and one is now engaged).

But what if exisitance in eternal life and the blessings one recieves in heaven is contingent on the spouse whom you marry and where it is preformed? So it is for LDS women who are serious about the Mormon church’s expectations for them.

Please ... please be the Christian Voice of hope and witness the truth to Mormon women that Jesus offers heaven like this:

“Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

Yes, some my extended family is Mormon and the pressure for women to get married young is very real. Two of my Mormon female cousins really didn't know their spouses very long before they were married. The one was around 23, which is basically an old maid in their religion, so she was in a real hurry to find someone fast. The other got married when she was 19 (I believe).

I have been fasting (today is my last day) for my Mormon family. God has put a burden on my heart for their salvation. My aunt and uncle joined the church in the early 70s and they had 4 children. Combined my cousins have 12 children. One of my cousins has (unofficially) left the church. I believe he's atheist or agnostic. Any prayers for them would be greatly appreciated. They are such kind, but lost people.

CantWait2Leave,

I know just how heavy the heart can be about this situation. Having some of my friends that left the faith is dishearting and does weigh on the mind.

Unfortunatly our experience is that some who leave Mormonism become atheist or agnostic. Those who do are probably some of the most hurt in our circles. We definitely need to our friends and family in our prayers ...especially those who are LDS.

Am not sure if you are aware, but TILM has a sister site for those who struggle with self-esteem issues...though geared toward LDS women, it is very applicable to Non-LDS and men. http://hishealingnow.com/

Please let me know if there is any other thing I can do.

That's a great site. Thanks for sharing it with me!

I just want to say you do an excellent job showing the Mormon lady on citydata the truth. I'm always very impressed with your responses to her. The Holy Spirit most definitely speaks through you!
