When times get tough, the tough stays put

So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders. Acts 14:3

Does Acts 14:3 seem to be exactly the opposite of what you would expect?

In light of the opposition by the Jews, you might think
that Paul and Barnabas would have gone to a place more hospitable to
their message. But the Bible tells us that it was precisely BECAUSE of
the opposition that Paul and Barnabas stayed.

Where the Word of God is being opposed and contradicted,
it is that much more important that the Word of God continue to be preached there.

SOMETHING ABOUT WHICH TO PRAY:
Dear Lord, how excited the believers must have been to be able to help
others! Grant me, who has been far more materially blessed than those
early Christians, that same joyful spirit of sharing and giving. Curb my
selfishness, and lead to me to give freely of my blessings, that I may
help others in both their physical and spiritual needs. Amen.
